*If Jason wants us to do a straight up interview, we'll do it.

*I called in. I think Derek & Romaine missed the point. But also it was the final 2 minutes so I had to cram things in so I had this "ooh, ah, "pause", eh, bleh" thing as always. I pointed out that the interview with Jesse Santana was the most unprofessional one for the first time in the past 5 years. I asked why can't they have the same attitude like they had at the GayVN (which Derek was frustrated because AVN screwed him and Romaine, and Derek questioned whether he should be professional not to do a show). Derek wasn't sure what I was referring but Romaine said "you mean like being a bigger person?" At least Romaine saw the point. But the time was less than 60 seconds so the conversation got cut off after I said "just do the interview as it is, tell Jason afterward I don't like the way you work with us, we won't book people through you again". Romaine of course mentioned "oh we won't". Derek agreed.
*Derek also addressed that he felt sorry that I'm disappointed. But everything has been totally unprofessional from the beginning.
*Jason Sechrest, I know I told you this few moments ago, but I'm really sorry if I didn't do my best to defend you properly. Defend may not be the best word cause it might show me being bias, but I felt I need to neutralize the situation given the whole show was falling towards them.
FINAL UPDATE.
DISCLAIMER: I have no row with Derek & Romaine. But the way how they take this and shrugged off really bothers me. Yes, Derek has valid point, Jason was unprofessional to them. But it wasn't valid anymore after how he and Romaine conducted the interview, unprofessionally. The show, like I said last night, is not your ordinary show. It's not for everyone. Someone will like it, someone won't. So that's understandable on my point of view. But how many people in the industry will see that?
*I got outted by Derek for supplying the audio clips to Jason.
*Derek probably took offense and pissed. I know ChiChi is not reading my tiny blog, but if someone does, please pass on my apology. Derek's last quote of the week:If you had to interview porn stars, you'd lose your fuckin mind.
I know what Derek means, but...I don't know.

Looking at the timeline, and the needless frustrations he was putting D&R through (who were, after all, doing JASON a favor), it is becoming even more obvious to me how Jason dropped the ball on this.
I too agree there are some parts of the booking process sounds messed up (according to them) and if I'm the radio host, I, too, would not be happy about the last minute request. It's a live, national radio show. Even if they don't follow the script, having 3 back-to-back guests is really tough anyways.
The way the interview went from good to worse irritates me. Especially right after the interview (see Jason Curious site for audio clips), Derek said on the show that they NEVER ask geo-political questions. Why now? To me, they certainly had the intention to make it a bad interview from the start because the booking process from the start was a disaster to begin with.
On Friday when they addressed it (the audio clips are now running), one of their long time listener (who is almost a side kick now) also pointed out that this was done intentional.
A true radio show host should overcome the difficulties of all aspects, not "oh I got screwed by your publicist, so I'm gonna fuck with you". Derek & Romaine did Jason a favor, but if you want to do a favor, do it perfectly, or don't do it.
What even disappoints me more was that Derek said he felt bad because it was Jesse's birthday. So does this mean if it wasn't Jesse's birthday, he won't apologize?
The point of the matter is, this is the row between Jason and D&R. But D&R brings it publicly and lash it out on someone else. I don't think the porn industry hates D&R, they're just disappointed at the way how it went.
Yeah, I agree with you. The only point I would add would be, Jason has been known to engage in the same sort of behavior. See my comments over on DeW (ie, Jason setting up that Rolling Stone hit piece on Brent Corrigan).
I look at D&R as avenging angels of poetic justice, when the past is taken into account.
Now Jason is on the recieving end of ambush journalism, and surprise! he finds that he does not care for it all that much.
